This is not a terribly difficult cache to go after.
Most people should be able to go after this cache without 4-wheel drive, but it's a dirt road most of the way.

Once you get close to the cache, you have about a .19 mile hike uphill from 8,277 feet to 8,387 feet. Be sure to check out the rock formation you'll see as you start your hike.

Once you get to the cache, you'll be able to see Hartman Rock off to the west and Signal Peak off to the north where I've hidden other caches.

 Hints

Go south on County Road 42 at mile marker 163 on US 50 east of Gunnison. Bear left at the landfill sign (do not go to the landfill). At N 38° 30.751, W 106° 49.570, take the right fork. From there on, stay on the well traveled road. No need to follow any of the double-rut side trails.

A bit breezy today but we did see half a dozen pronghorns. Traded an airplane for a duck.

TFTC Today was very windy with gusts about 60 mph. They just about blew us off the ridge. But we found it. Its nice to have an easy find once in a while. No complaints here. I took the indian head nickel and left a love duck.. We saw a pronghorn on the way out. It was a big male.

What a great 360 degree view! Pronghorns everywhere! Saw the cache before I even started looking -- not hard to find at all. No one's been here all summer. Brought a friend along, and he left an artistic handmade refrigerator magnet. TFTC!!!

All is well after the winter. The road was a bit 'rutty' in spots but our little Prius did fine when taking our time. Found at about 5.15 pm, 57 degrees - though when on the top the wind was stronger & it was somewhat chilly. Took the travel bug that spent the winter here & left a small child's book. Bring the kid! Great cache - thanks!
