Near the cache

This is the first cache for the G3RCS family--one of our favorite places in Colorado. Most of the way is terrain = 1.5, but the last 30 feet requires some moderate rock scrambling that some could find challenging, hence the higher terrain score.
One of the best parts of geocaching for our family is that it takes us to interesting places we wouldn't otherwise find. Hence, we only plant geocaches in areas we would find interesting--meaning we don't have many to our name. This, however, is one of our favorite places in the U.S. and required a cache. Please ensure the container is securely latched and well-hidden before leaving.

Distance from original: 6.2 feet or 1.9 meters.

Took a trip to Colorado for our 20th anniversary and checked on the cache. It's in good shape, though it wasn't hidden in the place where we originally hid it. We moved it to a new location that seemed even better...just a couple paces south from the original location. Also, being older made us realize that the rock scrambling makes the terrain probably higher than 1.5, so adjusted it up to 2.5.

I stopped at some caches on the way back to Falcon the day after my brew event at SPB.
Another hot day, but I did very well, again, in not getting sunburnt.

I was on my own for this trip. I stopped at a couple that had previous DNFs... and added my own. Then I got smart and checked the logs first. This was not one of them. I had arrived here after mistaking a trail and ending up well South of the visitors center. Not the ideal route, but it did keep me in the shade longer. I was careful where I stepped as I made my way back to the trail that leads to this one. After scrambling for a while, looking in all the wrong places and reaching as far as 75 feet from GZ, I made my way back to where I first zeroed out and found it in the one spot I didn't look previously.

Sadly, previous cacher logged that they dropped a TB, none are listed on the page and none were found in the cache. I hope that doesn't mean another lost trackable.

TFTC!
