co FTF with my antithesis kekj ! His log pretty well covered it except for noting all the flowers and greenery along the way to take pictures of - planning to come back again with more time to spend looking at the VIEWS rather than at the trail planning where next to plant my foot and in the a.m. to get a DIFFERENT view - again with the sun to our back.

FTF - WOW - KOOL ! What a NICE CACHE! loaded with so much neat stuff it was hard to decide what (if anything) to take! Finally took some Gold and left some gold (a golden Sacajawea $1 coin we had just retrieved from one of our caches on other end of the trail ! how cool is that!)
We saw this cache come up a few days ago and knowing the local geocommunity we were all but certain it was safe for some weeks. Have never done the entire Crag Crest trail and has been on our bucket list for several years. Talked to a few friends and set up today as the time to do it. We own over 40 caches on top of Grand Mesa as well as three that are set along the west trail heading up with a 4th at the extreme west beginning of crest trail which set for 9 MONTHS before 1st attempt and near 2 years before FTF as the climb borders on extreme difficult (T4+) None of the other members of the group are really geocachers although have been mentoring one a bit, we take off from the west end mid afternoon so sun is at our back, check all our caches along the way (all OK, 2 logs only on the hardest one at beginning of crest) After then running the crest (running! more like bumbling) we arrived at the east end and began the search. Fair amount of bounce in among the trees but had it located in just a few minutes - coords settled down at near spot on. Examining the caches was like finding a treasure chest! (see pic) The log BOOK is a jewel but we were running out of daylight so did not spend much time reading the honorific or looking at the pics of Rae. I now regret not taking a photo of those pages so could read them at leisure, also would have loved to then compare that with all the SWAG to determine what significance it had in the life of Rae but . . . . . the sun stands still for no man - God is another thing and am sure Rae is basking in his sunshine. p.s. The geo-newbie's wife is a teacher so he signed as SSoper1 and took an item related to teaching. Thanks SO MUCH for this neat cache, well camouflaged yet easy to find. Team kekj /kjke p.s.s. Did I forget to mention the VIEWS from up here? A rugged climb but well worth the effort! gets a FAV just for giving us a good reason to finally to this trek - OH! this also gets us our STREAK souvenir!
