Country: United States | State: Colorado
Coordinates: N39° 02.310 W108° 09.323 | Last updated: 08/30/2019 | Fav points: 5

Can be reached by Road 105 which is rough and rocky. Access Road 105 a mile or so west of the Hwy 65/Lands End road intersection or from the shelter house at Lands End.
Cache contains a news paper article entitled the "Lone Grave", a log book and pencil. The news paper article was written by Nathan Robb and gives a history of the "mystery grave" site. This site was sometimes referred to as the "horse's grave", but the stories told in the article date back to 1936 and give a number of different theories, so you decide?!?!!? As a memorial, we always picked a few flowers for the site. This is a small cache so not much room to take or leave anything.

Along with a batch of new Tbugs, my parents are here for a visit. Showing them the Mesa as well as a few select FAV caches. Wanted them to see this one and the paper docs for themselves. X was down but cache is in great shape, Wrote down tracking # of "Batter Up" Tbug but must have got it wrong as unable to discover - still in place. Thanks again for the funny history lesson.

Trail riding on Grand Mesa with PeachBob in his new RZR, and picking up caches. Cool and BREEZY, and looks like it may rain, but having a GREAT Day. TFTC SL. Discovered Batter Up TB.

On a little trip in the new RZR. It's a cool windy day and rain is coming. Better than working at home no matter what the weather. Thanks for the find

Replaced the geocache container and repaired the cross.

Loved the story. Gave this one a favorite. We fixed the cache to represent a proper "grave". Part of the hint was broken so we repaired it with some items in the geokit. Left a TB for the next visitor. Blue Sky Cindy dropped it in Utah and we brought it back. We were apprehensive dropping this one so close to home but we figured the traffic at this cache might help it travel farther. We have had it longer then we felt we should have so hopefully it gets out on its way. Three of the four tabs on the flip lock tuperware have broken off. This cache might need to be replaced before winter.
