As the name suggests, look for a dead tree.  The cache is a painted jar.   Bring your own pen. It is covered by some sticks.

Found going up Mountain Lion track through the Forgotten Valley to Windy Peak. Friends had suggested this area to me to do while I was in Denver and it was nice with the wildflowers around. On my way back, I got caught in a thunderstorm up the top of the mountain and ran down most of the way. Soaked through. Good fun. Thanks for the cache.

We did 3.5 miles in the snowy park today and got three caches along this trail. The cache names helped us with all the snow cover. Thanks!

Hiked the Burro trail today and found this cache along the way. My geosenses tingled when I saw the GZ from the Burro but it is a lot easier to get to from Mountain Lion, as I confirmed on my way back to the trail from the cache. Tftc! Was 1 for 3 today so very glad to find this one.

Found the cache after a little navigating . . . there's more dead trees out here than just the one, but coordinates are good :) We only saw a few other hikers out here on this Friday afternoon. It's quite satisfying finding these remote caches way up in the mountains, and some of my fondest caching memories have been of such finds.

I was out in Denver for a work conference (my first time in the area) and was joined by Lizzybeth13 to spend a few extra days visiting friends and finding caches. Today we took a drive up to this trail in Golden Gate Park to do some hiking and caching. I wanted to get some real hiking in while out in Colorado and this provided this experience :) The peak also gave us our highest-altitude cache find to date! Thanks for placing this one

What an adventure! I joined up with KalahariFox in Denver to stay with some friends out that way. We are Athens, GA based! Besides catching up with old friends, we decided to make a caching adventure out of the trip (duh.). We ended up grabbing many caches (some very desirable ones!) in CO, KS, and NE during our stay. My favorite part is always seeing what kind of wildlife we encounter. This trip we ended up seeing a pronghorn, prairie dogs, turkey vultures and even a prairie rattlesnake! So neat! Thanks for helping make this trip a total delight :)

We decided to take a nice hike up along this geotrail today! We weren't sure if we would get to the top and log all 4 caches, but in the end we did! All are in great condition.
