History:

Gateview was a Denver & Rio Grande (Rio Grande or D&RG) railroad stop on the Lake City Branch. Gateview was named for its view of The Gate, an opening in the nearby cliffs. When Gateview was established in 1892, the nearby Gateway post office was moved here. Gateview was a part of the Dubois and Toliafero school district. Gateview was and still is a ranching area.

Out for a short drive (turned out to be 16 hours) to go caching and sightseeing. But this one eluded us. TFTC

Looked at photo posted from GZ back in August 2016 after I got home to internet access and the location shown does not match the coordinates given in the app (if it is still there two years later).

Owner may want to consider correcting the coordinates listed. Coordinates are at least a quarter mile off!

I will check out the location in the photo next time I am around that area.

Looked for 30 minutes. No luck. Might be located on private land. Did not explore too far.

MerryMary and I are on a two-week vacation to Colorado to enjoy the fall colors -- taking photos, camping, hoteling, hiking, and 4-wheeling. Today we drove from Delta, Colorado, to Lake City. We stopped here to find this cache. Gave it the requisite search, but came up empty after a few minutes...
