This is our first cache hide. The theme came from the fact that one of the 2 caching kiddos wanted to help and we had a lot of his "treasure" from previous caches that needed put to good use.

At the request of the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services I must tell you that there is a mother bear and her two cubs that live in the general area around this cache. This cache should not interfere with the bears however. On this note, please do not bring food to the cache. Also, while there should be no food in the cache, please be sure to seat the lid of the cache properly, just to be sure, so we do not attract the bears.

The cache is located off a slightly worn trail just north of Quail Lake. It is a gallon sized camo'd container. The only thing to watch out for is some cactus in the area.

Heading to the cache, it should be no problem to find parking or the trail, but just for reference here are the parking and trail coordinates.

You can find parking at:
N 38° 47.320'
W 104° 48.514'

The start of the trail from the parking location can be found at:
N 38° 47.318'
W 104° 48.532'

The initial contents of the cache are a ball, star wars toy, night at the museum 2 toy, play-doh, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, a learn to speak in Spanish toy, a virtual ghost micro geocoin, stegosaurus #4 TB, logbook and pen.

Congratulations to hartsdale for being FTF!

Since today was a Sunday, the parking lot was quite empty and we were able to park very close to the cache. Easy find. Retrieved a TB that was not logged correctly. Left TB. Tftc.

We hate it when we can't find a 3 :O( We checked GZ---thoroughly. We checked everywhere around GZ. We felt like we went into the next county from GZ. Moved lots and lots of leaves and branches. Tiptoed around lots of cacti. Looked up, in case we misunderstood the hint. No joy, no joy, no joy. We will watch the logs and if it is still there, we will go in for an eye exam :O(
