A spice jar behind a tree located several hundred yards north of the "official" sign of the Colorado-New Mexico State Line. Use Forest Service road 121, which deadends a few miles north of this location. Do not attempt this area during inclement weather.
This is on the 37th parallel of latitude. The 37th was established as the boundary between several states: Utah and Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Due to various reasons, the boundaries are sometimes adjusted and are abstract or theoretical and not exact. At the Four Corners National Monument, GCGPZE is at N 36 59.648, a few hundred feet south of the 37th. The state line monument caches east of here are on the 37th. Refer to GC1KEJ9, GC1R5CF, GC1R5CZ, GC1R5AW, GC1R5AZ, GC26ZBO and GC1R44A. Near GC37O1F, northeast of Navajo Lake, the state line dips and is south of the 37th. This coninues to be the case with GC2WVJX @ U.S. 84, GC5896P @ U.S.285, GC57TBJ @ SR 522 near Sugarite Canyon. It's unique to note that the monument @ GC27F6 on the Oklahoma-Colorado-New Mexico is exactly on the 37th parallel.
