We were out driving and doing some geocaching. We drove to 30 mile campground and I pointed out to my husband that the geocache was up this enormous mountain, which is bad enough, without the rock wall before the top. So, we drove back and found Forest Service Road 533 (FS533) and took it. We were able to park about half a mile away. There are some dirt roads that go back toward the geocache, however, they have had a lot of rain in the mountains this year and in places the dirt trails were under water and very muddy. The walk was very nice and it was a beautiful view!!! Found the cache and had our lunch at the top of the mountain.
Thanks for the cache and the view from above!!!

Looked and looked and looked three trips up the mountain FINALLY find it! If you go search for it we highly recommend taking road right before the cattle guard (when headed toward 30 mile campground). Yesterday we tried going up from the camp ground and it's a wicked steep loose rock climb.
From the cattleguard road-not on any of our maps-there are two smaller roads to the left approximately from the cattleguard. Take the second but be warned it is closed to traffic after the field. Park and follow road to the top of the cliff look for the American Flag you will have a great view off 30 mile campground! Cache not near flag but you're getting close. Good luck-we found a travel bug! Left a crystal from The Last Chance Mine.

Stopped by to see of the cache was ok. The fire burned the entire ridge across the valley to the Southeast and it burned some of this ridge, but it stopped before it made it this far West. Looks like the fire stopped a couple of hundred feet from the Campground below.
