Elevation 11035, deep in the national forest along a 4-wheel drive trail.

You will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to reach this cache. This is a spectacular area of Colorado with amazing views. Wildlife abounds as well... keep an eye out for elk, bear, and the occasional bald eagle. This will not be available during the winter months, so get it while it's hot :)

Drove up here with COpackrat while taking a rest day between hikes. We left a small replacement container under the remains of the original. TFTC

Found with WingsAndTales who left a small container with log under the old melted lid. Nice views and lunch spot!

We found this ~8:00 pm. I was using a copy of a printout of GC1F0CR that I had made 7/4/2014. The most recent find shown on it was for 07/14/2012, so I was not aware of the last two logs. We found the melted ammo box. It is unrepairable and we did not have a suitable replacement. Also, we wanted to get back to the highway before it got too dark. I put it back where we found it, but did not cover it. I urge the next cacher to bring a suitable container (with a log), then place it where the melted ammo can is and cover it appropriately.

Well unless the cords were off badly...we found it. It is a melted mass of ammo can. Did you know it burned there last summer? Quite a large area. I am including a picture as there didn't appear yo be a log left to sign. Thanks for putting it out here, we recovered it so others could still find it. Hopefully you can get to it and replace the container.
