100 suns, that is how long a nap is for a troll
when Rita woke again
her mountain side had grown a hole
the humans must have dug them
in their search for shiny rocks
but someone could fall in
so Rita went to tidy up

THOMAS DAMBO

Rita the Rock Planter, is made entirely of recycled wood (palletts) and resides at Little Grouse Mountain in Teller County.

The sculpture, created by artist Thomas Dambo, joins the popular Breckenridge troll as a hiking destination in Colorado’s mountains.

The Teller County troll was unveiled 8/4/23.

Inspired by the gold mines of the town, Dambo designed the sculpture, and its backstory, to be "working."

“Trolls know stones have no legs, so it’s rude to remove one stone from a family of stones, Rita likes to reconnect them and plant them with their family.”

This cache is located past the troll, just out of her sight. You'll walk right past her on your way to this cache. Hopefully she doesn't see you searching and come over here to push these rocks back into the hole.

On our way to visit Rita and grabbing a few other caches along drive. Day started out very foggy but turned into a very nice day. The GPS pointed over there but geosense said it's over here. Nice hide. SL. TFTC

Rode the HD up here this morning to look for the new multi and then look for the other two in the area.

I sat on the bench enjoying the view till everyone cleared out so I make the grab.

FTF! Our 4TH FTF! We made the trip to Victor just to see the lovely Rita and discovered that there were two caches near her too. Bonus! She really is amazing to see and we had a ball taking tons of photos and enjoying the location. It was a beautiful day with no rain and a high of 71. As I carefully stepped off the trail (hubby stayed behind to protect more plants from trampling) I had an idea of where this might be. Coordinates were great! Found it easily and was shocked to discover that I was the first to find! How was this published on the 6th with so many people coming to see Rita, and no finds? Thanks so much for the trackable prize! I dropped my "Cache Wars trackable proxy" here to start its travels and also added a swag item (little yellow bendy dude). TFTC!
