***Congratulations to Lego Crew for FTF on 8/8/08***
This is how we used to go to Granny's House.
Still do, it's just a little farther now.
(100 miles as the crow flies from our home!)
This is an easy (we hope!) camo'ed 35 mm type Cache-n-Dash off I-70 at exit #354-River Bend.
You can park within feet of the cache, and there is a cito can close in case you need to cito your cachemobile.
Please replace the cache as it was found so it doesn't wash away.
We put a Colorado Rockies Eeelooooongated penny for the
FTF!

River Bend started out as a military outpost along the "Santa Fe Trail" in 1858 and soon became a cow town because of its proximity to the railroad. The small cemetery on the hill is all that is left of the once thriving community. When I was young growing up in Limon, "Grandma's House" was this way. 'cept then the service road was the main road out that way. We always liked it when dad honked his horn goin' through the underpass. He said it was to hear the echo. I learned years later that it was a custom developed to let some one on the other side know you were in there, because the tunnel is not big enough for two vehicles to pass.

Anyway..............even for all the changes, "Grandma's House" is still over the hill (just a little farther away), still got family in the vicinity,-n-I still honk my horn in the tunnel. Thought this little c&d would be a nice "Howdy" and break to all the geocahers from all over the world passin' by on I-70.

PLEASE
Beware and Be Aware of cache critters of the slithery-rattly persuasion.
ALWAYS
Look-n-Listen.
Watch the kids-n-pets.

There might also be all sorts of other "cool" critters too! Please feel free to note them all in your log.

Enjoy!

Keep on cachin' in a free world!

Visiting from North Dakota. Got up at 2:30 am Central time today to make a 5:00 am flight to Minneapolis. Changed planes and arrived in Denver around 10:15 am MT Time. Rented a car. Drove 3 1/2 hrs to find Arikaree. Then another 1 1/2 to Mingo. Then back across KS on I 70 to here and found after dark 8:30 pm. Still another 1 1/2 drive to Colorado Springs where our motel was waiting for us. A long day. Going to bed now at midnight. Have been up 22 1/2 hours. More excitement tomorrow. TFTC

Day 2 of our trip from Kansas City, MO to Antioch, CA to see the granddaughters. Today was from Burlington CO to Salt Lake City, UT, picking up counties we needed in Colorado and Utah. A good day of sunshine and just a little rain, and able to find almost every one we tried. Interesting scenery, snow still on the ground in some places, and some fun, quick caches.

We both had our sandals on and it had rained last night. Jumped out to look for the cache and got into a muddy mess. Made the grab, scuffed off as much mud as we could on the cement, then changed into clean tennis shoes. This is why we carry shoes in plastic bags in the car.

Thanks for the work you put into these fun caches and all the smileys.

T F T C - - - - I’m having a great time in Colorado Geocaching and sight seeing. Staying with a good friend in Centennial. I decide to hit the flat lands for my July 4th adventure. I got a early start to avoid some of the heat.

I appreciate your efforts in placing this cache for our geocaching enjoyment. It is always a great day to be out and about geocaching. Good job! I had a fun time finding it. Once again, TFT$ LTFAHG-Like to Find and Hide Geocaches.
