Alsea is the corruption of Alsi', the aboriginal name. A Yankonan tribe formerly occupying a small territory at and about the mouth of Alsea River, western Oregon. Little is known of the early history of the tribe of which there are now only a dozen survivors on the Siletz Reservation, Oregon.

Thanks, mondou2! I really like this series. It is about time I took the walk to this one. I did not have much time this morning because I needed to give the grandsons lessons this morning on mowing and edging their mom's lawn. Though they live in Arvada, it is the far north end of Arvada, so I oftentimes come this way when I want to swing by their place on the way home. The boys go to camp this week, so Mrs. Tamiuron and I will be taking a road trip to the north (Canada) so the longest day of daylight will be really long this year.
