Cache is at a trappers cabin from the 1800's.
The cache is in a peanut butter jar. Finding this cache is not very hard. Getting to the cabin is a bit tough. Cache is on forest service road 191 north of Fairplay, Co. This is a VERY rough road but a well equipped 4WD (lots of ground clearance) or most any ATV can drive right to the cabin. When you find the cabin, stop and consider the hard work and determination of the mountain men of the 1800's. Enjoy the view of Mt Silverheels. 2 scratch tickets for first to find.

Found on 6\16, roads were a little muddy but no problem with our Polaris's. A beautiful location for a cache, awesome views and a nice hide. Cache is still in excellent shape. SL TNLN, THANKS!

Found this cache in good shape. It was just where it was supposed to be. We had been Elk Hunting and weren't having to much luck so we decided to change that and cache instead. The cabin was surrounded by an Elk Camp so we introduced caching to them as well. Good times. I can definately see why there are so few logs for this one. We were camped 2 miles down the road and it takes about 20 minutes to drive up in our jeep (parked right next to it). Walking might be faster for the last stretch, and definately more comfortable. TFTH SL TNLN The dollar was still there too. [8d]

No 4x4 so I was going to have to hike it regardless. Did not know how rough the road got and how soon, so I opted to take the alternate scenic route in on a very nice trail. I had the place to myself today. A couple muggles found the cache a year ago and in the spirit of the game, signed the log "found by accident" and left a dollar.

I was suprised when I reached the new Forest Service closure on the jeep trail and the cache was still over 1/2 mile away. It must be a new closure since the placement date. Anyway it now requires a hike to reach the cabin.

When I reached the cabin I located the cache quickly. Nice location. It is in fine condition. Thanks!
