Hi- I am new to geocaching, so I thought I would introduce myself
by setting my first geocache!

I am a groundhog- so I’ll begin by telling you about us, (then
I’ll move on to others in my family tree!)

The only US holiday named after an animal is my day- Groundhog’s
Day (“Turkey Day” does not count!). I really don’t like the movie
Groundhog Day—not enough of the hunky action star, Punxsutawney
Phil!

Groundhogs are the largest members of the squirrel family.
Though they we are usually seen on the ground, we can climb trees
and are also capable swimmers. We love the areas where woodlands
meet open spaces, like fields, roads, or streams. I eat grasses and
plants as well as fruits and tree bark.

My final find before heading back to the TH. Strange goings on when I got to my car with 3 police cars, including one from FairPlay and several older teens hanging around. One police car pulled in behind me & almost blocked me in after I was already in my car with it running but I decided I had enough room to pull forward and turn around.
At first I was afraid my car had been broken into but it was fine. Strange way to end the day.
