This is a very special find for me. Not only is this my third time looking for the cache, but it's my 1,400th find. The hint from the CO saying which entrance to use was MASSIVELY helpful. In the past we had over 15 people searching for //hours// and it took me about 4 minutes to find it after I had the correct entrance. Granted, this cache is still extremely difficult due to the hike, the terrain, as well as the find. Like I said, this is my third time around!! I'm so happy to have avenged this one. Favourite from me because this is one of the coolest locations geocaching has taken me to. Thanks for the cache and the adventures.
PS. The hiking trail is still blocked off. This is posted in the log description, and I would not recommend going until the trail is open again. We drove about two hours and only found out the trail was blocked off for part of the year once we got there (so we went up anyways). Don't be like us. Plan ahead :)

We were definitely not equipped properly to do more than enter the fault cave. We looked around and decided that it would be something to do another time when we actually had flashlights and more gear. Looks like fun!

Due to so many people with DNF’s I decided to come up and check on it. Geocache is still in the original location and waiting to be found! Try this entrance.. photo included with this post.

I have been up there a few times. and there are 2 entrances. There other is about 30 to 40 feet west up the hill. Be sure to check both. This one you cannot access the full cave when you go in.

I returned to this cache with reinforcements. But after another 2 hours of searching with 12 others, no luck again. This cave is huge. Without guidance inside the cave (a tip or hint) would help. GPS doesn't work. So its difficult to speculate on the location of the cache inside.

After a cumulative 39 hours effort by 13 people, we left bruised physically and mentally. No cache in hand :(

One of the unlucky thirteen who struck out searching for this one today. At least I hadn't done the virtual before so it wasn't a total loss for me.
Nothing gets the juices flowing like watching your kid put his hand about a foot away from a baby rattler. As herndonrd (who was with us) always says "God takes care of children and idiots," so my son was doubly protected.

Argh. My dad and I couldn't find it the first time so we brought ELEVEN (11) more people with us for a total of 13 people and still didn't find it. We have spent a total of 3.5 hours looking for this one. I would say 'maybe another time' but I don't think we will be back. photos attached of our group and a rattler we found

Spent over two hours searching with a group of 13 people. Other than tearing a hole in my pants for a cool breeze the trip was a bust.
