This cache is placed at the end of the Hacket Gulch Trail near the South Platte River.

To get to this cache a 4-wheel drive high clearance vehicle is required, the reason for the 4.5 terrain. The last 1/4 mile to the cache site is closed to all vehicles. There is room to park at the barricades and you must hike in from there.

This area was closed after the Hayman fire in 2002 but is now open. The area is very scenic.

The trail is very remote and we suggest that you do not go alone. Yahoo!! Congratulations to hartsdale for FTF !

Found. This day was about the Wheelers for the Wounded of Colorado Veteran's Day jeep run. Surprise, we ran down Hackett.

Nice little addition to a day 4 wheeling. Frog is still there and still lights up :)

Our 12,300th cache find! My son and I went 4-weeling to Hackett Gulch today, It was a great day until he decided to do an ice crossing of the nearby river, broke though the ice, and got very badly stuck and his Jeep flooded. But that all happened after I found this cache... which was 50% of my targets near the end of this difficult Jeep trail. This one took me a long time to zero in on, but the coords are good... just a lot of possible hiding places in the area. Favorite point awarded.

Everything is in great shape here. The frog is still here, and still lights up when I push on him.

This is day 1248 of our current daily caching streak. Thanks for helping us to extend it by another day.

TFTC!

This was a fun cache and container. The frog was present, though he doesn't work anymore. It just isn't his winter I guess. The cache is doing well though. TFTC!
