CONGRATULATIONS TO nOwae FOR FTF!!!!!
Take FS Road 216A all the way to the end, where it says something about private property. I turned around there.

This is a very steep 4x4 road that requires high clearance and low-end 4WD, lockers are helpful on the loose rocky section. (Or a good pair of hiking boots :)

Well, this cache was a hell of a thing. After striking out at Kasper's Cache, we went up the road for this one and found it easily enough. Then we decided to climb up the rocks to see what kind of view there was. We looked down, only to find another ammo can right there under a rock! Sweet one, too. Clean and dry, good log book and lots of swag.

Looking at the online logs, I see this cache was replaced in 2009 after the old one was "stolen." I have to wonder if it was up on top of those rocks all along! How funny would that be?

Anyway, we put the nice cache in what we assumed was the right spot and took the replacement back to Kasper's. Then we spent the walk back to the car trying to figure out how two ammo cans came to be at the same cache site. Thanks for an entertaining find(s)! I have to give this one a favorite point.

Caching with Path Pacer to get a few more jeep-road caches and a couple more D/T caches for our Fizzy charts. Drove part-way in on FS216 in Path Pacer's Subaru, then hiked the rest of the way to Kasper's & Red Ruby's caches on the steep & dusty road. Worked our way around the cliffs, went too far west, but found GZ easy enough & without climbing any cliffs. Made the quick find & signed log, then climbed up to take in the view - only to find another ammo box up on top! This is a first for both of us! Since we had a DNF on Kasper's, we agreed to take the "spare" back there, after consolidating logs and SWAG. Followed some fresh flagging on the way back down to the road. Great spot - TFTC!

I had the pleasure of spending this snowy April afternoon with a few members of Team Red Rubicon up on the trails. They'd found every cache, but were very generous to take me around to each spot. (Well, as close as the Jeeps would allow, anyway!) Really enjoyed the time up here. TFTC!
