Mycophobia (from Latin myco, "fungus") is the fear of mushrooms (note the word origin as mushrooms are fungi). The most common cause of mycophobia is that some mushrooms can be poisonous if consumed. People who fear mushrooms would avoid eating mushrooms as well as not touching mushrooms. Eating or even touching mushrooms would result in symptoms like sweating, crying, screaming, elevated body temperatures and heart rates. Some people may get this fear from playing the popular video game, Super Mario Bros.

If a person has a fear of mushrooms they will likely present symptoms that are mental, emotional, and physical. The severity of the symptoms often is a matter of how afraid the person truly is of mushrooms. Panic attacks can be brought on for people with mycophobia if they think about or are exposed to mushrooms. Less severe symptoms include sweaty hand, shaking, upset stomach, nervousness, and wanting to stop thinking about mushrooms or run away from an actual mushroom.

Found another container that's perfect for this phobia series. Hope you enjoy your hike along the 715 trail.

The huggle decided he was Willing to go for a ride but it was mid morning & the horses hadn't even been fed yet. So consequently we got a very late start to ride all the way back around the mountain. But I decided to go ahead and ride the trail up to Balanced Rock Rd & find that one. Consequently we only had enough time to find this one & one more before we had to turn around & make the two hour ride back before dark. A fav point for a really cool container & one we could ride to.

1:12 PM We are here from Dallas for our typical August vacation in Divide in order to skip the Texas heat for a couple of weeks.

Today I am hiking/caching around Mt Herman with WingsAndTails.

Very cute. Worth a favorite point.

We signed the log. Thanks, Ms.Stang, for the cache.

We made a big loop out of our hike today so we could come by these new caches. Interesting containers and hides. TFC

Came out this morning with Rat22 and family (dog included) in hopes of a FTF, but we didn’t get out of bed early enough...LOL. Congrats to gampa&gamma for signing the top line and being the early risers . We sure enjoyed the hike through the wooded trail and alpine meadow. It would have been exciting to see the residents of the beaver pond. The most disappointing part of the hike was discovering we hadn’t one pen among us, so I was able to scratch a signature using a dirty house key. Thanks Ms Stang for a fun morning. Favorite point for the location as well.

FTF at 9:09 AM. Got on the trail early this morning so it was a cool 3.6 round trip hike from Mount Herman Road. Nice container! Signed log and replaced container as found. Thanks for the cache.
