Phred's birthday is the 30^th of July! He's FIVE (36 in Human years)! He already has a trackable and a fan page; so this time HE gets to hide a cache! Watch out... he is sneaky! Do NOT look for it at the posted coordinates; that would be dangerous and unwise!

It took some serious planning and a lot of brute force to get this GC number for Phred. GC30XXX is so fitting for him since his birthday is on the 30^th! And as you know, XXX is thirty in Roman Numerals.

Phred was born on July 30^th, 2006 and adopted by me on October 5^th, 2006. He loves to eat moths. He can be in a deep sleep but if you say, "Moth"; he comes running! He prefers Miller Moths. Sometimes I call him Monkey because his meow sounds like one. He is part Cat, Monkey, Dog and Human. He sits, fetches, chews on sticks and recognizes many words. He knows the difference between the words 'treat' and 'food' and while giving him treats; if I say, "ONE more", he knows it is the last one and walks away afterwards.

He has about a dozen toys under the stove and/or refrigerator at all times. He loves playing with laser pointers and can tell the difference between when I shake my keys versus when I shake the laser pointer. He also loves cuddling and watching movies with me. Some of his favorites are: The Number 23, 28 Days Later, 500 Days of Summer, Ocean's 11, Gone in 60 Seconds, 17 Again, 50 First Dates, and 13 Going on 30 (another 30...).

My friend fell in love with Phred the first day I brought him home, so she went and adopted one of his brothers. They have seen each other a few times but I doubt they know they are related. His brother catches rabbits but as far as I know, Phred's biggest catch was one Garter Snake. He was so distraught when I wouldn't let him kill it and I let it go. He loves it when I bring him home fresh catnip that I find along the Cherry Creek Trail. I am sure you now know more than you ever wanted to know about Phred... so I'll let you get back to solving HIS cache!

PS: Pay no attention to the "No Dogs" attribute.
Whose cache is this? Phred would be a disgrace to Cats if he didn't add that.

Out and about caching with the5millers, benj59, MagicCacher and herndonrd on an overcast day in Castle Rock. By this time benj59 had left the group to head back home (but made sure to stop here on the way). That didn't stop the rest of us from pressing on for more caches. Earlier we had climbed up to the top of "the" rock caching and decided to grab some more after we were done. We came over here to make the grab after I got help solving the puzzle.

[Ok. Help is an understatement. Rather than getting a nudge for a hint, I got the equivalent of a supersonic hip check. My mind was totally blown at the brilliance of this puzzle.]

Herndonrd was the hero at ground zero, as his diligence and persistence got us the smiley. After we did the whole sign and replace thing we were headed off to find another one. Thanks for the fun hide and for your contribution to a great day of caching. Favorite point added for the sheer brilliance of this puzzle.

Well, that was quite the puzzle! I've come to expect a lot of crazy ideas from this CO and this is one of the best. I doubt I would've come up with it except for a hint generously shared by the CO quite some time ago. Subsequently, I've had it on my solved list for well over a year. But, I rarely am in this part of town and when I am I'm with my family who isn't so keen on caching. So I've been patient and have bided my time. But today, I was in the neighborhood getting some other caches with a good group of guys.

The final location for this cache made me smile. I was joined on my caching adventures by my dog (oh the horror!). But before Phred freaks out, I would direct his attention to the attached picture. There you will find Jack and Luna showing that yes, dogs and cats can truly be friends. Luna was very afraid of Jack when he first came home. But over the past year, they have developed a good friendship and it's not uncommon to find them snuggled together.

This gets a favorite for the pure genius of the puzzle and a decent sized container at the final which I wasn't expecting based on the location.
