I have biked past this place so many times and always wondered "Who is Phil Milstein"?  I posted a waypoint the closest parking area that I'm aware of - you will have to walk or bike a half mile to the cach.  I recommend going during the day and bringing a buddy if you can. The Platte Trail can be sketchy sometimes.  Also, please put the cache back exactly as you found it since not all of the structure is magnetic.  Now, for Phil...

Philip Milstein was, it turns out, no less than “Mr. Denver.” A public servant for more than five decades, Milstein is remembered, by those who remember him, as a “visionary” and one of the city’s greatest champions. Among many other projects, he spearheaded the development of the 16th Street Mall, a pedestrian zone that runs through downtown and is one of Denver’s most recognizable features. One story recalls him walking up and down the mall picking up litter and pulling weeds, part of a longtime campaign to beautify his city. Before being recognized with a park in his name, Milstein was honored in 1984 as the city’s only “living landmark". He was also a key figure in the South Platte River beautification project, which likely explains the location of the park.  Pick up a piece of trash in his honor!  (Credit: Andrew Miller)

I meant to add that I am so thankful for the farsighted planners and leaders in our community who reserved so much space for parks as otherwise there would be a condominium in each of them.

Dave went off to play golf and I decided to take the walk to this one before church. What a beautiful morning. Thanks for a nice hide. I think I may have gone to school with Phil's daughter :-) tftc
