This cache is hidden at the top of a hill near where the Morrison Creek Trail splits from the Shinglemill Trail. You will spend most of your time hiking the Shinglemill Trail.  This is another in a series of caches that are all along trails in open space areas west and southwest of Denver.

Near the reference waypoint there is a fork in the trail. Pick a spot near here and head up the hill for the cache where you will find a lot of rock outcroppings. You will have hiked through a lot of trees to get here but the area by the cache does not have many trees.

The hike is about a mile and a half one way. It's a fairly easy rolling hike to the waypoint. Then you need to head to the top of that hill you have probably noticed on the way. It's really not that hard to get to the top of it if you get to the waypoint first. This is a very popular area for mountain biking so be alert for them.

Great view from the cache.

10:02:00 AM Out grabbing another Trail Mix cache this morning. Almost hit a big buck on the drive to the trailhead - he crossed the road right in front of me. Luckily the brakes are good! Fun hike.. Thanks!

Find #7000! I found #23 yesterday, so had the bug to come out and get this one today. Nice morning to hit the trail, some areas of snowpack on the trail, but nothing worth worrying about. Hiked out of the trees via the jeep trail, so had to bushwack over towards the beacon before finding the Shinglemill trail again. Found the cache, enjoyed the great views and quiet, then headed back to the parking spot via the Shinglemill trail (of course it was only 50-100 yds away from my approach route). Saw 4 deer, 2 bikers, an eagle at GZ and plenty of deer and turkey tracks. Thanks for another fun hike! Cheers!
