A log-only cache off Trail 715 just north of Mt. Herman Rd. It commemorates the long-dead car at this location.

GPS reception is spotty due to tree cover, so look around. The coordinates listed are an average of several readings. This area has high muggle activity, so be sure to rehide the cache as you found it. The container can be seen without moving anything if you are in the right position.

Warning: Some cachers have experienced danger from illegal shooting in the area. If you hear gunfire, it may be prudent to return at another time. With the September, 2017 murder just up the trail and multiple reports of hikers being threatened by a man wielding a hatchet, the sheriff's office recommends traveling in groups and paying attention to your surroundings.

Thanks to hikermama for restoring the cache bag. It currently only contains car 66, so I added a few tiny pieces of paper to serve as a logbook until someone can add a real log to the cache. It also could use some swag.

Found it, it was laying out on top of the roof of the car, not sure where it goes exactly but I’m leaving it in it’s baggie in the passenger side door cubbie, tftc, I always love the titles of your caches.

wow. how sad and scary about tim watkins. read The CO's note and when we got to the car we saw the posted sign pictured here in this log. how sad. it made the mrs very leary of the rest of the trail but after looking for a bit and digging through there snow we decided not to make too many tracks around GZ. decided to move on up the trail. we'll be back this summer. thanks!

Checked on the cache this morning and found the container and log still in good shape. Removed some extra trash from the cache. Replaced the outer ziploc to help the cache continue to stay dry.

Visible from upper trail. Impressive to see a log over 11 years old and still room to add more. SL

I'm not sure if we would have even seen this old car if it hadn't been for the geocache. THANKS! :)

I would love to hear the story on how that got there! Thought that I had already found the car, and just needed to find the cache, but actually I hadn't done either yet. Thanks for bringing me here! This was en route to the last cache of my 7-hour day out today. Thanks for a memorable cache!
