GC4HPQD Traditional Cache Elisa 2
Type: Traditional | Size: Small Small | Difficulty: 1.5 out of 5 | Terrain: 1.5 out of 5
By: lostdognkitten @ | Hide Date: 07/27/2013 | Status: Available
Country: United States | State: Colorado
Coordinates: N38° 49.790 W108° 47.806 | Last updated: 08/30/2019 | Fav points: 0

We named these after our good Friend Elisa who decided to buy a house instead of going camping.

If you are more adventurous the coordinates for a 5th cache (Elisa 4) in this series is included here. Since it was too close to another cache we were not able to log it correctly. The terrain is decidedly more strenuous.

Again - Unless you have a high clearance 4WD vehicle you will need to park as close to the main road as possible N 38° 50.041 W 108° 47.957 .  ROADS ARE NOT MAINTAINED IN THE WINTER.  If you don’t park at the Turnoff please park here for this series.  N 38° 49.818 W 108° 47.655   This is a great area to walk around a little and only one of these is a more difficult terrain.  Trying to maneuver a vehicle to each of these caches could damage the area.

5 Logs: Found it 5

7-18-15 (not the same date as the log) Prior to the event up here on 7-5, we were 16 caches behind in logging. After the event we found 11 more in the immediate area and were then 27 behind. Have a large construction project winding down in Delta and - due to work pressures and multiple trips lately (graduations etc.) - we have not been totally caught up on our logs since mid May, having only logged FTFs, Events, and a few special finds in the mean time. Now caught up on everything up to the Event which with these 11 logs will bring us to 999 caches.

We have already found our 1000th and will then log it - GCRTA9 – Hidden in the Hunting Ground, a mapping puzzler multi by McMurdo1. We found the first three stages as a team in early June but ran out of daylight, mapping resources, & smarts - and did not find the final stage that day. I literally woke up in the middle of the night with the solution and after taking the Ms. to GJT to fly to AZ the following day, went out and made the find on the way back home to Delta. I signed the cache log and logged a “Note” but decided to wait until the Ms. came back and could see the view and sign the cache log also before logging it on the web as our 1000th find. Managed to get the Ms. out to the finial cache and sign the log this past week so can now make that log entry. It is definitely in our list of top 5 favorite caches!

Sorry for the late log but want to thank each and everyone of you for having set the cache for our enjoyment. After the event we finally ended up out here to get as much of this series as we could find ending up with I Got PAID to be here. Found 1, 2 and 5. 3 has multiple DNFs and we put a very strong honest effort into finding, nada. We did see a slip of paper in #2 with 2 sets of 3 numbers each but did not realize the significance of it until later. Now realize that is for #4. We are planning on coming back to get the multi and the two WAY off the beaten track at a later date. Sun was completely down by the time we left the park - totally out of time. We would be interested in helping the CO out to maintain this series by finding and resetting #4 in a proper location and replacing #3 with a new cache - contact us if you are interested TFTC SL Visited bugs
