Needs maintenance

Go East out of Naturita on hwy 141 about 2.5 miles. turn left on rd 90 and go about .25 miles to county rd "Mail Box". This is a sorta gravel road (what you see is what you get), go about .8 miles to the top of the hog back ridge.
This is a kids cache in a 1 pound coffe can filled with lots of kids stuff and a log book. You will have a 360 view of the Nucla / Norwood area (the locals call it the west end) so the GPSr should get good reception. Have fun looking and give us a wave down at the power plant (thus the name kids "power").

I love the views from here. Glad its back so my boys can help find this. This is one of the first ones I did when I got started 20 years ago.

on route up to Grand Junction today. Grabbing some caches along way. Wife was not happy about the drive up the road... I was looking at some of the items, too bad I don't have anything that takes a 25-06 Remington.. oh well.. TFTC

6:34 PM Thus was my backup cache for CO DeLorme 065. After a 2 hr drive and a nearby DNF, I made the bumpy drive up Mailbox Park Road. Nothing personal, I just need to be as efficient as possible with such an ambitious agenda. I was very happy to make the find. Great views up here. I won't forget this one, so adding a favorite point.

Day 2 of an ambitious trip to finish up the Colorado DeLorme, Great Square (all 4 corners of Colorado) and New Mexico DeLorme challenge requirements. I lack 6 southwestern CO and 2 northwestern NM DeLorme pages. (Yesterday I drove from Dallas to Albuquerque.)

Today is about getting NM 014 grid and CO grids 089, 078, 084 and possibly 074, 064 and 065 to finish out.

With the 4 corners region planned for Thursday, I will visit the southwestern and final corner of CO. (The northwest corner is, by far, the hardest.) I'm also headed to Potter's Pond (August 2000) cache in Utah in Wednesday.

Friday I head back to Albuquerque and Santa Fe see family and friends. I wanted to do a little cache maintenance in the Pecos Wilderness, but that is now off the table with the area closure.

I signed the log. Thanks, Jim, Vickie & Joey, for the cache.

I walked right past the cache on my first glance around. Container seems to be good and sturdy now. Very hazy today but still able to make out Lone Cone and of course, the power plant. Thanks.

Longer hike than expected but the time with family and the views made it well worth it

Whew, this was a tough one for us. There were four of us, from aged 3 (almost 4) to nearly 40 and the little legs had some trouble with the hike. Once we got there though, the views were spectacular! Cool hide, the kids enjoyed their trades. This was a previous DNF but this time the weather was much better for the long hike.
