Cowboy had saved up his money for a new saddle. His friend, Jose Aguiar, is a master saddlemaker and has his shop at his hacienda located a few miles east of Mesa Verde bluff. While traveling a remote trail to Aguiar's hacienda, Cowboy traveled through the brushy sage and junipers. Up jumped a nice 4 point buck and Cowboy drew his rifle and downed the buck with a running shot. He knew the deer would be a welcome gift at the hacienda.

He dressed out the deer and slung it over his horse and moved quickly to the Hacienda. "Is my saddle ready?" Cowboy asked Jose as the Mexican came out to greet him. "Si, Senor" said Jose, "And for bringing me the fresh meat, I will throw in a set of new saddlebags". Cowboy smiled and rolled out of the saddle. Jose said bring the deer and we will cook the backstraps and make some excellent venison tacos for dinner. Maria has some beans and rice to go with it.

The cache is a large black container that has some swag, a new TB, and plenty of room for leaving any item of your choice. The log is waterproof.

Expanded our search a bit when we didn't see it at GZ. Good pull off for our big truck & camper.

My muggle mom was the driver. As I navigated her to the pull-off for this cache she noticed a police officer sitting here. I had to convince her it was ok to still stop. Lol, she promised she'd leave and leave me if I got in trouble. The officer didn't even pay us any attention. All was fine. Tftc!

Thanks for another fun cache in this large long running series. Spent some time in Cortez while on a family vacation. We explored Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, and Canyons of the Ancients. Enjoyed lots of learning experiences for the kids. Grabbed a few caches while in town and this was one of them. Stopped for this one on the way into town after the nearby abandoned building and signs grabbed our attention. Oil spill huh!? That's bad and boy did they let all passing drivers know about it! Stamped the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the fun stop on the way!

Tagged this one after a long day at Mesa Verde. Now back on the road for an exhausting drive back to Pagosa Springs. Thanks for the cache.
