Not Recommended for kids  Significant hike  Not Tourist Friendly

I was working on Hard as Hell and had misentered the coordinates for the CP 2 WP. I really should have double checked them when I was at Almost to CP 2. But, I had already double checked them earlier. As it turns out, my eye failed to notice that I had a 4 in the first decimal digit for west instead of 1. So, I ended up 0.3 miles from where I was supposed to be! I had already spent a WHOLE LOT of time bush whacking through the scrub oak. Instead of back tracking, I decided to see if I could make my way back to the "trail." This was still a tremendous amount of work. During my trek back to the trail, I took a break to rest under this tree. Since I happened to have a container with me, I decided to drop a cache. Why not make lemonade out of lemons?

This should be an extremely easy find. I have placed it at the base of the tree and covered with a huge unnatural pile of rocks. On the other hand, getting to this one is going to be an absolute pain (literally and figuratively). I pity the people who decide to go after this. I don't know how YOU will make lemonade out of these lemons. You have been warned.

I am SERIOUS about the "Not Recommended for Kids." Do NOT bring kids with you when you look for this.

I doubt that ANYBODY will accidentally come upon this cache. And, with all the rocks piled on top of it, no animal should make off with it. So, it should stay in place a good, long time.

{FTF} Boy! I certainly did all I could to earn that 5 Terrain rating! Bushwhacked like 1.5 miles; struggled thru endless scrub oak, up and down thru 3-4 ravines, getting soaked from rain and clingy drops on all the plants. I did head up the hill to the ridge on my return and followed that non-maintained path, which was a lot better than how I came in. Anyway, it was a quick find once I did get there. And then I waited out more rain and even hail. Quite the experience! I'd suppose this won't be visited too often. Anyway, thanks for the expedition (I think). #8561
