So my Dad and I wanted to place a cache in honor of our favorite railroad.  The Rio Grande unfortunately stopped running in the late 90's and now BNSF and Union Pacific run through Sedalia on what is now known as the Joint Line.  We found this awesome Caboose which we refinished.  We know that it's not an exact replica of what a Rio Rio Grande caboose looked like, but we wanted to honor the railroad that brought both of us to love the Rio Grande.  Without the hard work of the Rio Grande railroad over decades Colorado would not be where it is today.   When you find the cache please be gentle when removing the Caboose from its container.  When you get the Caboose out, carefully take the top off the Caboose and inside you will find the log, and for the lucky one who gets the FTF, there are 2 Yay! stickers for you to take and enjoy.  Please put the cache back as you found it.  Please enjoy this cache as much my Dad and I did when creating it!!!!!

Nice job on the container! My dad and I enjoyed our Lionel trains for years and then I had N Scale layouts. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the new cache! Earns a fav!

I saw this one publish last night, but didn't want to scare the neighbor by wandering around across the road with a flashlight. I figured that if it was still not found in the morning, I'd head on down and try to find it. Success! This is a great cache container and I hope it stays that way. The coordinates are spot on and it was a quick find. I'm glad I didn't look for it in the dark, there is lots of cactus and, knowing my luck, I probably would have stumbled into it. Good hide, great container, deserving of a favorite point. Thanks mlonie79 for placing this cache so that we can play! Took nothing, left yen and unactivated TB, signed log.
As a side note, the building that houses the Sedalia Museum was moved from very nearby this location. Also, as you drive by Sedalia Elementary School, check out the sustainability initiatives that the students are involved in. There are raised beds for vegetables and chickens who provide useful fertilizer for the gardens as well as eggs.
