This area started as District 20 for a period of time there was 3 schools operating in the district. Sunny Side, West Sunny Side & Happy Valley. At some point in the mid 20’s the people in the area of Wauneta wanted to form a new district. By this time the state was against forming new districts and pushing for consolidation. The people wanting a new district took it upon themselves to move the Happy Valley school to the new location figuring that no one would force them to return the school. The plan seemed to have worked as the school continued until 1951 when they consolidated with Wray
