You can drive, cycle, bike, or hike to the top of Boreas Pass.  Fun stop to learn about the old train route, along with spectacular views.  Always full of muggles and at main stop, there is few old cabins and a train car to look around on.  There are also 4 or 5 easyish geocaches near this point.  At the top of Boreas Pass Road, you will find the trail head for Black Powder Pass Trail.

When you climb to the top, and it is a hard climb, with about 660 feet of steep elevation, you will get a view South Park and Georgia pass.  Wildflowers galore  on this trek!  You are looking for an ammo can.

I made the Boreas Pass area my epic fall mountain geocaching trip this year. I wasn't sure where the TH for this was but I did find the old 4WD road up to the Cabin with a View cache so I parked there & huffed & puffed my way up. Once I got that cache I checked to see how close I was to this one & how much more "up" I would have to do. It was exactly one mile and maybe another 150' in elevation gain if I didn't lose any in my trek across the slope. Since the light rain shower had pretty much stopped I decided to go for it. I hit the trail about .2 miles from GZ and went up from there. A tough hike but it was worth it for the views & a FTF. Probably only my 6th one in 13 years! I was disappointed to see that muggles had already signed the log, but I was the 1st official cacher. I took a couple of photos up there before my phone died. Now to make my way back down & to the car.
