Number 5 of a series of caches placed on scenic Colorado mountain passes!
Cache is east of the Cumberland Pass summit sign.  The pass is on a gravel road between Tin Cup and Pitkin, Colorado that can be driven in a car.  Great views!  Enjoy!  :) Thanks guys for being the first to find! This cache was placed where you can walk up to it on level ground! From your description of what you had to do to retrieve it, a melting snow bank must have carried the cache to a difficult place on the side of the mountain!

I saw where the posted coordinate where located at and my first inclination was no way. But being so close I decided I might give it a shot. I climbed down the steep mountain in the trees to the North of the cache until I was at the same elevation as the cache. I then headed out across the rock slide well over 500 ft. Once at GZ and looked around and didn't spot anything. I then read the description and logs and saw that the cache was attached to a wooden stake which was not there. I looked downhill and it was nowhere to be found. I went ahead and dropped a replacement since this was such a remote location. I then made the treacherous journey off the rock slide and then back up the hill. TFTC.

First to find with Sooner_Boy13 and redball99. One of the coolest caches we have ever done. Tricky, but nothing for a smooth-running team, a harness and a climbing rope. The log had long ago given way to water, but our marks are forever memorialized on the stake holding the cache. TFTC.

FIRST TO FIND!!!!! With soonercache and Sooner_Boy13. Yesterday we saw the cache hanging from the stick. After loading up on climbing gear from Gunnison we made the trip this morning and conquered the cache. This cache is at a very difficult terrain as we had to harness up my brother and send him crawling down the face of the mountain. I would recommend a harness and a rope like we used, one wrong step could send you tumbling down 2000+ ft to your death. Needs a new log but other than that it was a fun cache. TFTC

First to Find!!!, with SoonerCache and Redball99. Was crazy, after two days, having to acquire climbing gear, and enduring freezing weather, this cache has finally been conquered!!! I think the difficulty level on this cache is a bit underrated as the few thousand foot, sharp incline of the mountain is, well, not suited for a stroller. The way we attempted this daunting/daring/monumental cache was have to guys on top of the ledge that is above the cache, while I was lowered safely on a rope below. The paper on the inside of the container is completely mush now. One of the coolest cache I've ever done. TFTC

CB_Beauty and I attempted an approach from high ground and could not get any closer than 450 feet, down the scree. As we drove down the pass, towards Tin Cup, we did not see any other path approaches. Perhaps next time we will be more prepared for a hike in. Beautiful views with our approach, so still worth the trip.
