Dogs  Scenic view  Medium hike (1km-10km)  Seasonal Access

This cache was meant to be placed at Grassy Gulch, a nice place close by that I've hiked to several times before, but the BLM has closed off yet another trail.

So, I took the recommended alternative trail and placed this small cache. It's placed at a watering hole in the aspens. There are a couple of ways to get to it. The hike in from the trailhead is moderate and the scenery is awesome. However, getting back to the trailhead is up-hill whether you take the short cut or the same route back. Either way you'll have a fun hike through undisturbed country.

The cache really is IN one of the aspens. Hope you enjoy the hike and the quiet of the Roan Plateau.

 Happy Trails!

Came up this morning to make some repairs and looked and found this one waiting to be found. Not sure if I found the easy way to it with 6 inches of snow, but only fell once. Found the hot tub but forgot matches. Container kicked out again and buried in the snow. Signed log and replaced back where it should have been. Hiked out with no falls. Lots of hunters on the mountain today. Orange is the color of the day!

1st had a wonderful time camping with the cache owner (darr)
2nd had a excellent breakfast cooked by darr
3rd NICE hike to shale springs
4th Realize quards are not on my gps for this cache?
5th darr gives me his gps and say's go find it I will following you, only hint to me was there is a easy way and a hard way
6th 1/2 way though adventure darr tells me " I think you discovered an even harder way"
7th figuring out different gps
8th get close as darr sits down and watches me search
9th look for a while at posted quards
10th FIND CACHE (but not at logical location)
11th discover might not be ftf
12th some little critter moved cache from original location, but he or she could not sign log so....
LUCKY 13 I did FTF with no help from darr and put cache back at logical location.
