Solve the puzzle below to find the cache.

To find the coordinates for this cache, solve the following puzzle:

Cache is at N 39 3F.WAE W 104 5X.YFZ

10/24/2015 Doing maintenance I noticed coordinates off just a bit (and verified on Google Earth). Subtract .002 from N and .002 from W for better GZ.

Kakuro puzzles are like a crossword with numbers. Each square contains a digit between 1 and 9. A row or column of digits between grey squares is referred to as a word. The same digit will never repeat within a word. If you add up the digits in a word, the sum will be the number shown in the clue. Clues are shown on the left and right sides of "across" words, and on the top and bottom sides of "down" sides.

Krypto Kakuro are different, in that each digit from 0-9 has been replaced by a letter from A to J. You have to determine the mapping from letters to numbers before you can solve the numeric problem. The big letters in the puzzle are clue letters.

Numeric values A-J are the mapped numbers. Numeric values W-Z are from the indicated squares in the puzzle.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

I am normally not a fan of Sudoku or other types of number puzzles. But kudos to you KA&JWest as you have gotten me to do your two Relational Sudoku puzzles and now all three Kakuro puzzles. Every one has been an extreme challenge but super rewarding when I have solved them and found them. And this was no exception.

I worked on this over a month ago and after several days of trial and error and thinking I was getting close only to be thwarted, I solved it. I was so relieved! But then it was a matter of getting out here. I had thought about it a few times, but the timing never worked out. I love all the trails back in here though so I knew I had to get out here. Since this one is rated a little easier than it's cousin nearby, and it looked smaller than the other puzzle, I figured it would be easier. Yeah, no! This was equally hard for me but I was able to get it solved without outside help, just like the other.

Today was the day! I took the day off work and took my dog, Jack, on the trail with me. Quite busy for a Wednesday morning! We actually parked closer to Bee Happy and so took the long way over here. This portion of the trail though was definitely quieter which was nice.

Unlike Kakuro #3, I just about walked right up to this one. Whew! The adjustments on the coords definitely made a difference. The container is losing it's camo but is still intact. The baggie wasn't doing it's job though and there was rusty water in the container. I emptied the water and replaced the baggie but kept the log. It was a little damp, but I was still able to stamp it.

It's hard to believe this hasn't been found for over TWO YEARS! It's a great puzzle, great hide and great experience. Everyone else is missing out!

Thanks for challenging me to think hard and use brain cells I don't often employ to solve this puzzle. For the whole experience, this gets a favorite point.

Thanks for the hide KA&JWest

Another puzzle my father solved for me. I saved it for a nice hiking day. Just a bit windier than I expected.

I solved this puzzle shortly after it was published, so it felt good to finally make it out here and get it. Of course, it's always fun caching with heh324 and PayMeCache, so finding this one with them was an extra bonus. Thanks for the fun puzzle and hide.
