Cache overlooking the pictureseque mining town of Silverton, CO
This cache is on a 4WD road overlooking the town of Silverton at an elevation of 9700 ft. The cache is not very far up the road, so you can hike to it or get within about 50 feet of the cache with a 4WD. We'd recommend driving the whole road after finding the cache if you have or rent a Jeep, as it goes all the way to 12,600 feet and has great views of the mountains, mines and the town directly below at the end of the road. We are from St. Louis, so we won't be able to monitor the cache- hopefully it will survive the winter til we get back next year.

The cache is a clear tupperware originally containing:
Jeep Travel Bug - please help it find it's way back to
St. Louis, MO
Mini-flashlight, 2 seek & find wordbooks, deck of
playing cards, USA pencils, pens, chapstick &
logbook.

So this is one of the craziest finds of the day. The cache was nice and dry inside it. All the swag was dry, but the logbook and its baggie was full of water. The logbook is soaked, and will need to be dried out or replaced. Not sure how the cache was nice and dry and the log book was soaked, but it is. Craziest thing I’ve seen in a while.

We came down to Silverton to do some Jeeping since they have a good portion of the Alpine loop open. So had to swing by here and get the Jeepin cache. This one will need some work, kinda crazy, I’ll post a NM log. Aside from that it was great views of the area. The ol CJ handled the road like a champ! TFTC!

Out jeeping with Pathfinder33 an Aden the geocaching hound. What a great time bouncing around Silverton and grabbing some geocaches. Cache is as PF33 described. SL best we could with it being super wet/damp.
