Placed this one in recognition of Geodog #2. His name is Kota and my wife rescued him from the Lakota (Pine Ridge) Reservation in May, 2017. He was curled up, sleeping, under a bush in front of the Catholic church where she and her school group were staying while on the rez. The Sisters encouraged her to take him away if she liked him, as he would probably be dead, or a commited feral beast, within a year. He was about 1 year old at the time and we figured he got by through a diet of small critters and handouts (look at that face!).
Kota was with me on this hike, alnog with my #1 geodog (Loki) and wife and sister. He was fairly well behaved while I placed this, I had him tied to a small branch embedded in the ground - he could have pulled it out easily and probably would have if a small rodent had flashed by. We are working on obedience - but he had a year's head start on dveloping wild ways. He[s a good dog and we're glad to have him.
