Driving to this location should get you within a hundred feet or so of the cache. This cache is located near Johnny Park, west of Lyons. It's at around 8800 ft. elevation, and will require a high clearance vehicle, dirt bike, ATV, to get you within a hundred feet or so, or a strong set of lungs. This area can be accessed, six to nine months out of the year, from either hwy. 36 at the Big Elk Meadows turn off, or from hwy. 7 through Meeker Park. The Meeker park side is easier. The road will be closed in the winter. There are some high cliffs, and loose rocks near the cache site, so keep a close eye on your kids. The cache itself, is in a safe location. There is also a memorial plaque in the area that we've found in the past, but could not remember just where it was when we planted the cache. This plaque would be more dangerous to find than the cache, as it is on a ledge. We'll try to find it in the future and supply an additional set of coordinates. If you find it, e-mail us the location, and we'll post it. Good luck.

Came in from the north off Johnny Pk rd.. Some snow to negotiate, but the cacheplace was clear. Cache in good shape. The panorama of the southern RMNP peaks, snowcapped, and stunning. Great find up there. TFTC.

Mountain biking this area today. Dismounted and hiked to this spot with its outstanding view of Mt Meeker. I was surprised how good a spot this was, and rocky, with views in nearly all directions. Cache in great shape. TFTC.

Out with the better half for a Jeep ride on one of the last (?) warm sunny days. It's been a couple years since I've been out here. I logged this cache in 2008 and hadn't planned on doing this one today. But it is such an awesome spot, I had to show my wife; and we decided to check on the cache while we were there. It's in great shape. TNLNSL. TFTC.

I approached this one from the North, and did my best to avoid stepping on the unmarked private property boundaries. The rock formation at the cache is very impressive as is the view. Thanks for placing this one!

Maybe we gave up on the road too soon, because for these 75 year old legs, it was one heck of a hike up that mountain to the cache. Going down wasn't too bad........ Thank goodness!!! Took a whistle and left a hot wheels truck. The view was magnificent.... BiggsAFB Evansville, Indiana

I, too, hiked straight up from the parachute hill/johnny park lane intersection. Lots of log "pyramids" in the area from the thinning program. I had no information on the cache with me - just the coordinates. Bumbled around a bit then finally decided to look where the coordinates sent me. Great view for sure and the rock outcrops are spectacular.
a little hazy but still a great view

SUPER AWESOME views! Nearly 360 degrees all around. Much longer hike than we thought. Met 3 other cachers with their dogs while there. Took travel bug and left hazardous geocoin.
