I own 183 caches and for all my back country, hard-to-get-to-sites I never make it hard to find the cache once there. Yes, found the owl pellets with all the small bones but the cache was not obvious at all after such a short, rough hike and you can be sure about my Army-learned expletives on that, unstable slopes, etc. Yes, this is more on the order of a D3T4 and maybe actually consider re-working it as a 3-4 or 4-4, so everyone will be perfectly ready.
Actually not a bad little adventure for me, especially the watchable wildlife, which actually may have been me. I stayed high on the way in and decided to head at a diagonal down and about 20 feet from the arroyo bottom and with the shack in sight, I noticed a movement out the corner of my eye upslope and right front. A cat! About 200 feet away, just apparently moved into place but just kind of sitting there, looking right at me and what a photo that will be! But when I went for the camera it took off fast across the slope and up-canyon, disappearing quickly. Looked about 5 feet long head to rump. That was pretty thrilling. I'd say just for safety sake, keep dogs and kids in close, and maybe don't do this one alone.

have driven by this cache so many times but never seemed to have enough time to try for it... so this time c-n-g and i made a point of looking for it... i too thought the cache would be close to the shack as it is not far off the interstate... tough getting to the site and could see the shack from the cache... got scratched up as we didnt wear long pants. saw the mini bones but cache was just sitting in the open on a rock so we moved to protected rock. After many years of passing by this cache on I-70 we finally got to search for it with fishlogger on the way to caching near De Beque. Always thought that the cache was near the dynamite shack, but low and behold it was a long way beyond the shack through some tough bushwhacking and slip-sliding up the slopes to where we found it setting on a rock. Cache is in good condition. Placed the cache nearby in a protected location so that it would not fall off the cliff in rough weather. Thanks for placing this tough cache. Gave a couple of old guys a much needed workout.

Well, this was WAY more of a hike than anticipated by the terrain rating. No clear path, rocky, shale. but persistence paid off and found the cache in good shape. this hike is not a level 3, not for the faint of heart, and DO NOT attempt without long pants and plenty of water!

Hike was VERY challenging. No clear trail, lots of growth in the natural vegetation. Cache was in good condition, signed log. NOT a level 3 terrain in my opinion.

Way harder over game trails, loose scree, and steep terrain than a 3!! Found it. Forgot to leave my prize, but I won't go back.

Out with Desertvs, got a call to go find this one. Passed it many times and figured I better gran this one when I had a chance. Glad we went to get it, really neat canyon that has limited visitors.

Out with kgid185 today for a daylight find. There is a small parking area if you brave the giant dip. I scraped the nose of the Grand Am a little.
I always wanted to check out the shack but never have till today. This is a neat little canyon, treacherous if you step wrong too! We found the cache after carefully picking our way up. Cool views near GZ. Cache was open when we found it. Maybe a large criiter could smell the eggs left in the cache. TFTC SL LN T-spawnsac from cache
