Had to go home after seeing a crow?? raven?? sitting a  only 10' from me and geo-dog Blue.

 

Here's the info-> the sound crows make is "caw" while a raven's voice sounds  like "rock." Crows caw loudly when they fly while ravens soar quietly! A crow's bill is sharper and shorter than a raven's larger hooked bill. The top part of a raven's bill is larger than the lower bill. A raven's tail is wedge or diamond shaped when in flight. Ravens have the largest brain of any bird and their wing span is 46-54" compared to a crow's which is 30-40".    Thus the name of the cache and I hope you have the chance to see one up close!

Returned after cache went missing almost three years ago. Amazingly, I wound up at the same GZ, still a small barren area, but I branched out a little to the obvious spots searching for that raven. I did find the nice small container in excellent shape, and almost within arm's reach, I found the micro as well. Signed both logs but hard to believe that I missed these before. Thanks.

No ravens today and no cache either. Saw a lot of lizards and some decoy SPORs, or maybe those were Paiute deadfalls, but definitely no cache. GZ was kind of barren for me, but I did branch out in a circle and still nothing in the trees. Maybe next time.
