This is the 39th in my series of Trail Mix caches all made out of Trail Mix jars.  It is hidden in an interesting location about 7 or 8 miles from highway 105 along Dakan Road.  Once you get to the parking coordinates, you need to make your way to the cache where there is no trail.

Dakan Road is a great off the beaten and dusty route. This cache is not far from a parking area (see the close parking waypoint) along Dakan Road. Getting to this parking area is a nice drive along an unpaved road that has some dips and bumps.  You'll have to use your judgment about whether your vehicle should use this road beyond the alternate parking waypoint.  I used a Honda CRV and had no trouble whatsoever but a low riding car might have trouble in 2 or 3 spots.  I think any car can get to the alternate parking but if you park there, you'll have a hike of about a half mile one way and then you get to hike off trail to the cache.

See the Hiking Waypoint to head down the hill to the cache. Other than one spot of bush whacking the route is fairly easy downhill to the cache about 700 feet or so.

Note that this road is only open from around May 1st through December 1st depending on weather.

Fun day chasing Trail Mix caches in the Forest. My third and final TM of the day. Another great hike down to this great overlook! Can I claim "first to find after the FTF frenzy on publication day"? :) Cheers!

This was the main target, but also the last cache we did in the area. Lots of fun stuff to grab. Thanks for bringing us here. 40 is too soon to stop, maybe 50? 100?

Thanks cajrrman! Logged Trail Mix #39: Dakan Road from a ninth galaxy using c:geo!

You know us, this series is like Pokemon ~ gotta catch em all ~

Found with BearAdair, and Bhob after grabbing a handful of tough ones on Rampart Range Rd. Made our way here past a Big Rock Mondou named lol.

Took a trackable, and dropped one. BearAdair had a blast today. Thanks. Gets a fave.

Out and about in the Rampart range area on a sunny and warm summer day with "animjason" and "BearAdair" - we had a fine time rambling in the woods. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

I Missed it by that much! I woke up and discovered the latest TM had dropped, and I knew I had to get it! My Suby's clutch went out yesterday, so I decided to grab Shorty and jump in my old rattletrap CJ-7. This was the furthest Trail Mix we've had to find, and it took us almost 2 hours in the old jeep to get there. We had some extra fun 4 wheeling off of Jackson creek road, and FR 503 to get over here. Lots of dirt bikers and quads today, even ran into a couple volunteers from Douglas County Search and Rescue who were out training near the GZ. Shorty and I had a lot of fun finding this one, and we are happy to say that we are among the few who have found every Trail Mix in the series! Thanks Cajrrman for all the fun! Will #40 be the end?? SL, took a pic of Shorty Smiling, and grabbed one of the TB's! Earns another favorite! TFTC!
