What a fun find (and some work too!). The snow was growing deeper as I was nearing GZ and I feared it might be buried. I think this is my 1st Denaili41 find and now I see why they're legendary! SL TNLN TFTC!!

CNC and I made the hike up Button Rock Mountain and climbed up on the summit rocks for the superb views. We enjoyed seeing and remembering the many hikes and visible peaks we have been on in the past and picking out new ones for the future while refueling.
After our break we came down and found the cache in good condition. Coords were right on. We TNLN and signed the log. Thanks for the placement in such a fine location!
We continued on about .6 mile to the SSW to another point for even more spectacular views! Now on towards point 7790 and hopefully the Surprise Pond...

It was right where it was supposed to be, undisturbed since the last time it was found, almost 8 months ago. That container had definitely been bitten by something with a big mouth and pointy teeth, so I replaced it with a camo-wrapped glass jar that may not taste as good. The replacement log that Icezebra11 left is in good shape, and now it has a sharp pencil and some magnetic rocks to keep it company.
Today was a beautiful day for a hike. The north slope had a lot of snow drifts on it, but was pretty manageable. I was on the trail at 7:20 AM, and was startled by a group of guys camping just in from where I parked. Farther along the trail I saw one mountain bike track, some dog tracks, and some small boot tracks, but no other people. I saw a couple deer springing through the woods and an angry squirrel chattered at me near the summit. Overall, this was a very pleasant hike in a beautiful area. thanks Denali41 for encouraging me to find this one! It's a favorite, for sure.

It has been over a year since anyone has logged this one so I decided to make the hike today. I wasn't sure where all the trails led to so I stuck with the most traveled one until it looked like a good place to turn south and up the ridge. It turned out to be a fairly good place as they had done some logging and there weren't all that many deadfalls to slow the pace. Made it to ground zero and found the container laying out in the open with the lid off and all the contents gone. I had a pre-made log in my pack so I placed the replacement log in the container and tucked it back in its spot. It appeared it had only been held in place with some sticks so I rounded up a couple rocks and secured it. I didn't have any swag with me so the only thing in the container is the log. Don't forget your pen, you'll need it. Thanks Denali41 for placing another good reason to get to the CO backcountry.

Came and found this cache with sassydil. She's really good at finding awesome hikes! Like she said, the weather was blue skies, rolling fog, blue skies, cloudy, blue skies, fog, etc... (you get the idea) :)
Picked up the TB she dropped off and will move it along. Thanks for the cool hike and views! Fave!
