Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Available during winter

Quick C&D. I'm not a benchmark person, but I did notice one nearby while looking for a good hiding spot.

Now an ammo can. Originally, this was a level three difficulty hide, but didn't meet Groundspeak guidelines. Now that the cache meets guidelines, I don't want to mess up previous finders' stats by changing the D/T on the page.

Have fun!
The Indian name for the Spanish Peaks is 'Wahatoya'.

This is a place you can stop for a little while for reflection and prayer. Please be respectful of others who have stopped here to pray.

....

Worth mentioning is nearby Lathrop State Park along US 160. Lathrop State Park, part of the Colorado State Park system, offers full hookup camping in the summer, boating, fishing, hiking, golf, and GEOCACHING! There are a number of great caches and activities at Lathrop worth the entrance fee.

Headed back into La Veta this morning from an early round at the Walsenburg golf course at Lathrop. Have always wanted to stop at this cache, but every time I drive by I always forget until I zoom by. Remembered it was coming up today! Thanks for this hide, the cache is in good shape and contents are dry. Dropped a TB.

Found it. Unfortunately Wahatoya was not visible, but I knew they were still there. Love this part of the country, thanks to Jon Chandler! TFTC

I drove back to Cañon City from Great Sand Dunes National Park and stopped here. I must have driven past this spot several times and never noticed what was here. I'm so glad I stopped and took a look. What an interesting and unusual attraction. This is another one of those "If not for geocaching..." stops. I signed the log and added some of my personal geo-cards. This cache is in perfect condition. Thanks for adding to my fun today.
