At base of Ohio Pass, Gunnison side.
As you travel north toward Ohio Pass from Gunnison, after the Beaver Pond hiking area, and just before the road turns and becomes steep, take the small road to the right. This is the road bed of the Denver, South Park, and Pacific RR. High on your left is a rock wall, which was also to be the road bed, but was never completed. After you see the sign describing the 'End of the South Park Line', walk a short distance along the road, then head up, toward the rock wall. Cache is at base of talus, but not in the talus. Clear, 1/2 gallon, plastic jar.Original Contents:Compass, Dinosaur, Dog, Bear magnet, Goat, Squirt Gun Camera.

Another GREAT hide by Geocaching. Lots of history.
Wish we could have hiked up to the palisades but it looked way too high for us flatlanders.
Thanks for the history lesson.
A favorite for sure from this DSP&P fan.

Good spot for kids. Nice little hike but nothing strenuous. Cache was empty expect for log book. We left some goodies.

Found it, log is damp and cache had water in it. So I dried it out and got out the little bits of wet, trashy stuff that were in the cache . I don’t have any plastic bags or any other cool toys with me to put in there the only thing in there is the log. But tftc, wouldn’t have known to come up just Road otherwise.

Cool spot. Never would’ve come down this little road without the cash. TFTC

It was a lovely day with peak fall colors. Great to be able to log a find also. Interesting history of the rail line.

Staying in near by campground for a few days. Out with John4x4 and AZ4x4s doing some site seeing and of course picking up some caches along the way. Thanks for the smiley face.

Great scramble up the hill, spooked some deer hiding down in the draw. I had the cache in hand in a few minutes and I even pondered climbing up to the actual wall for a few moments. Great history spot. Have a favorite point for the cool spot!

Third find on our way up the Ohio creek road going towards Crested Butte. We missed this one last summer, so had to come back. Echo the comments from previous log, the history of the area is fascinating and putting caches at significant places helps get people to go visit them. TFTC.

TFTC, these are the reason I love geocaching. I love the history of the area, seeing the rock wall so high up and trying to see how a railroad would have ran through here. The placard at the campsite was very helpful. Made the grab with CB_Beauty.

Note to others...wear long pants and bring bug spray. Also, walk down the path until you see a rock the size of two basketballs, then head towards the cache. We turned too early and had to beat brush.
