Take a trip up 82 east of Aspen to Lincoln Creek, along the Roarding Fork, the old mining road, and experience the views and find this cache! Cache is a camo granite gray rock with a small green container in the bottom. Bring a pen.
The Old Stage Road Cache is located approximately 10 miles East of Aspen, past mile marker 51, and right onto Lincoln Creek camping area. Accessable by car, turn into the Lincoln Creek areas and proceed approximately a quarter mile down and there is a 2-3 car parking area in the dirt on the right. You will be above the Roaring Fork River, and also overlooking the old wagon road, where you can see the rocks piles on the side going down into the river bottoms and towards Lincoln creek. This wagon road is the orginal road used in the 1880's and 1890's to haul silver from Aspen over the Independence Pass to Leadville, and to the rail head. The cache is down the hill from the parking area in a flat spot overlooking a huge boulder on The Roaring Fork. It is accessable only in summer months. It is a gray camo roch with a container inside. Located next to a large boulder. Bring pen. Enjoy.
