A cache dedicated to one of the best Sci-Fi shows of all time, Joss Wheadon's Firefly! If you've never heard of this amazing Space Western, be sure to look it up ... you'll be glad you did. If you want, take a moment to read my short description of the show below the cache description.
Cache Description - Medium Box with Camo Cover
This cache has a nice home near a lovely babbling brook surrounded by cool shade and curious squirrels. The inside of this cache looks like a window into Serenity's engine room, decorated in Kaylee's style with lots of danglies, baubles, and stickers. It is a large cache by today's seeming standards (about the size of a paper back novel), but if it were any smaller I wouldn't have room in it to put all the goodies. There is a bag with a large stock of Firefly-themed SWAG to pass on to other caches (to spread the word across the 'verse) and where you can leave your own travelling cache items. There is also a bag for Trackables if you have/use them. I am starting my own Firefly-dedicated trackable from this spot, which you can follow yourself here. Please let me know if this cache needs maintenance. I am hoping to make it into an heirloom! Please come visit, enjoy, and stay Shiny!
Firefly Show Description - Small Show with Big Heart
Five hundred years in the future humans have abandoned a polluted Earth to start over in a new solar system where they teraform planets to make them habitable and as much like the 'Earth that was' as they can. However, not all worlds are created equal. Some host sprawling, high-tech cities populated mainly by those who benefit from wealth and privilege, while others are home to little more than backwood settlements of colonists with only the barest essentials (if that) living in vast, empty territories reminiscent of the Wild West. The main story takes place some time after a brutal civil war between the rich and 'civilized' Alliance inner planets and the poor and beleaguered outer-rim Browncoat worlds. A former Browncoat Sargent named Malcolm Renyolds is now the captain of his own ship, a worn and ragged old Firely-class cargo transport named Serenity (think old VW Bus crossed with the Millenium Falcon). He and his mismatched crew of wanderers try to carve out a living taking jobs as they come (some legal, some not) with the goal to simply 'stay flyin' another day, sometimes on the wrong side of the law, but always on the side of what's right.

The Coal Creek Trail is a soft-surface trail that parallels Coal Creek from 66th Street in Superior to Erie with beautiful stops in Louisville and Lafayette. There are many Trail Heads for this 14-mile route, this is simply the closest to the cache. There are quite a few caches along this trail so it would be great to make a day of it!
