Didn't end up at the starting coordinates, but still found a trail to take me to the geocache. Decided to bushwack my way out of it and back to the car. I'm glad I found is area. TFTC

well we made it to the posted quards for the parking area. Got out of truck after it was starting to dive a little funny, ready for a nice hike! Tire going flat bummer... changed tire as I am watching the clouds roll in. Thought it might be in our best intrest to get off the Roan! We will be back it looks like a great trail to hike.
So that was you polaski with the truck load of wood headed down when we were heading up HAPPYCACHING till next time!!!

After leaving the Stand, we headed to Yellowjacket Creek. Thought about a top down assault, but quickly yielded to the more prudent lower route. Drove back across the plateau and headed down one of several long ridges to the Yellowjacket Creek area. Stopped at the parking area and hoofed it down the trail toward the forested prize. The trail was easy to traverse and much easier than the "bush-wacking" option, the usual Polaski choice of travel. Got to the creek crossing and watched a red tail soar overhead and screech for a while. Continued up the creek trail and was inundated by deer flies. I began to think the creek had been miss-named. Once up at the head of the trail, I made short work of finding the cache. The hint was very helpful. When I opened the log pad, to my surprise was an un-filled FTF line, second of the day! Traded for a matching wooden bead. Got back to the truck and Tink and headed out. Was able to fill the truck with discarded firewood from along the roads, found two caches, both FTF's, met some nice people at the JQS trailhead (now I think it was the Jwjeep's). All in all, a great Fourth of July!
