This is a camoed stainless steel thermos. It's at the Last Chance mine, and you can drive within 20 feet of it. The mine does not have to be open for you to access it, but use common sense with weather and snow.
There are many relics around this mine. Exploring them will enlighten you to the tools and lifestyle that the miners experienced when working this area. The view from this location will take your breath away, especially if you have any fear of heights. The last 1/2 mile of road is very rough, and not recommended for a low car, such as a Prius, but most passenger cars should make the trip without trouble if driven with a bit of care. It is located within the Alpine Loop drive, and was placed with the owner's permission.

Introduced 2 friends to geocaching. Great fun, blind leading the blind! HINT: Oliver helped us find the cache.

We drive a Honda passenger car up from the east. I would definitely recommend coming in from the west, it is a much easier road. We took the mine tour and had a great time. It was completely worth it and a great education/history lesson. Cache was in good shape and Brandy was funny and friendly. Thanks for the cache.

I have been up to the Last Chance Mine several times. They now have one of the old mine shafts open. I highly recommend you plan to spend a little time looking around, enjoying the views and taking the mine tour.
