The 3 Terrain Rating is for the last 10 meters which requires some relatively easy boulder climbing. You should only need your hands to steady yourself...Not to Climb!
No leaping or rock climbing skill needed!!

This cache is a quick grab on your way to the Crags. It is 130 meters from the road off of a new trail that is part of the "Ring the Peak" project that will connect and create new trails to and around Pikes Peak. There is a simple log bridge at the trailhead
(N38° 52.839, W105° 07.506)
that can be seen from the road in an open area great for parking and often used for camping and picnics. The cache itself is a smaller sized ammo can painted green.

Four people. Eight eyes. Two GPSr’s. No luck. Just like the last log from 10 months ago... oh well... fun climb. Thanks!

First cache on the hike today. Perhaps a good indicator of how the day would unfold too. I climbed too high and had to come around to another spot. KJKlock had already found this a long time ago, but Jenn still helped me find it. Sl, thanks!

Woo-HOO, geocache find #3500 BigSmile
Found it today around noon. I (Dad) am afraid of heights so while the Kidz were looking high, I was looking low. I found it ToungeOut
The hint says "lifeform" and not "tree" for a reason !
See photos to narrow down your search, as GPS bounce at GZ can put you pretty much anywhere on this large formation, but rest assured, you DO NOT have to climb more than 10 feet off the ground.
Stamped the log, dropped a trackable of ours (a copy tag) and were on our way. TFTC !

Replacement log AND THE CONIFEROUS LIFEFORM
Not many signatures in that logbook
Ring the Peak hiding spot
Look 3 feet below his 2 feet
GZ right in the middle, my feet are on the ground

I have been in contact with ZenGunner who is no longer in Colorado. With permission I have replaced the cache although I would now call it a small container and possibly a bit further away from where it was originally hidden which I hope should make it less likely to be muggled. The hint still applies somewhat & because of the rock the GPS reception is sketchy at best so even at the other placement I still had a good reading that was close enough to 0.
We are in the process of changing the management of the cache to me but have to research how to do it first.

Both the GPS and the Hint seemed to point to the same spot but half an hour of searching failed to find it. I even did some spelunking to see if it had gotten washed away. :-(
