This is the fourth cache in our Lands End series. This series will take you along Lands End Road starting at the Grand Mesa National Forest border, along the twists and turns of it’s switchbacks, over the rim of the Grand Mesa and beyond. This area is one of our favorite places to be, and we thought that it deserved more attention and appreciation for the beauty that is here.
Wild Rose Picnic Area was named for the abundant flora. Its a popular base camp for weekend excursions and extended hunting trips. This is the trailhead for the Coal Creek Trail, which goes the full length of Kannah Creek Basin to Carson Lake. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while sitting at one of the many tables located off the trail. The cache is located a short .14 miles from the gate. Watch your step while hopping rocks crossing the North Fork of Kannah Creek.

The cache is a lock and lock container with some small trade items.
