This is the second cache in our Lands End series. This series will take you along Lands End Road starting at the Grand Mesa National Forest border, along the twists and turns of it's switchbacks, over the rim of the Grand Mesa and beyond. This area is one of our favorite places to be, and we thought that it deserved more attention and appreciation for the beauty that is here.
This cache is located at a spot aptly named "camper's corner." During summer holiday weekends and hunting seasons, this corner is a small city of campers, 4 x 4's and ATV's. This was once the kick off point for the "Lands End Challenge" which was a timed race to the observatory located on top of the Grand Mesa. This race ran annually, for not much more than bragging rights.
