Welcome to Stage 5 of the Colorado Cryptex Cache Adventure!

This series of 5 caches are based on some of the best hides I have seen or heard about on the internet. I have tried to keep these fairly easy and yet slightly challenging but with a big emphasis on fun.

You must find Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4 first to have the coordinates to the cryptex and the combination to open it.

If you haven't found Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, it is best to start with CCCA Part 1: Adams County Cache GC4EYJJ

Stage 5 is the completion of the adventure.

The cache is not at the listed coordinates.

It can be a high traffic area and there is parking close by.  Please use stealth and replace the cache carefully.  Cache is not in any electrical boxes.

Lots of Cache to trade!!!

Feel free to share any stories you have on the log and I would love your Favorite Points if you enjoyed the Series.

Part 1: GC4EYJJ - short two stage cache
Part 2: GC4EYK1 – regular cache
Part 3: GC4EYKB – night cache, short two stage cache
Part 4: GC4EZEF – night cache, short night trail cache
Part 5: GC4EZFP - Final Cryptex cache

Warning: The Cryptex is only made of PVC (which is plastic) and will break if you force it hard enough. If you have little ones and they want to try the combination please ensure they are careful with the Cryptex. Rotate the combination rings until all 8 letters are in a STRAIGHT line with the two alignment arrows on the end caps. Do not place the Cryptex on the ground and try to keep it dry if you are caching in the rain.
There is little room for error so wiggling the end caps while opening might slide it out a bit more easily. There is NO NEED TO FORCE THE CRYPTEX OPEN….. If the correct code is used it will open without any problem.
Once complete ensure the combination is still inline before inserting the key end of the Cryptex and again do not force. If it comes to a stop while not completely closed, one of your combination rings will have rotated. Check combination and close completely. Remember to scramble the combination after the Cryptex is closed.

A special thanks goes to Soxter & Billini, the owners of the Maple Ridge Cryptex Caper cache series (GC23WZ0) in Canada for the idea and the awesome drawings on how to make a cryptex.

Took a little searching but found it. I assumed the fence was for neighbors yards... not the case. The cache was just laying on the ground. Didn’t know where it was suppose to be so I tucked it under some cover. What a fun cache to open.

I enjoyed the CCCA series... wish the CO was maintaining. You can get part 2 if you walk down past the NO trespassing sign for about 500 feet. No one around so I didn’t see the harm... however... if you are good at following the rules... which I think is best... you can look at my photo that is attached to this post... it is the info you need from part 2 to finish this series.

This cache is amazing! As many others have said, it definitely took me a while. When I found the cache, I was searching in the last area that I was planning to search before giving up. Persistence is key for this one, but it is worth it! The cryptex and log setup is really cool and was quite easy to use given the code obtained from the rest of the series. During the first part of my search, there was a very loud dog that barked without pausing for a solid 20 minutes. I was pretty sure I would have to leave because the owners of the house had their windows open, but nobody ever came out to check what was going on. I hope that more people go complete this series and find this amazing cache! TFTC!

We finally made it to the final. The hide was pretty tricky. It was almost luck that we found it. The Cryptex was very cool. We really appreciate when a series and an cache are so well thought out. The workmanship is really awesome. TFTC!
